How it works, start to finish.
A new website shouldn't feel mysterious. Here's what working together looks like, from our first conversation to launch day and beyond.
-
Free consult
We start with a relaxed conversation about your business, your goals, and what your website needs to do. No hard sell, no sales team. Just a real conversation.
-
Quote and plan
After we talk, I'll recommend the plan that fits and send you a clear quote with the scope and the price. No mystery quotes, so you know exactly what you're getting before we start. See investment ranges.
-
Deposit and kickoff
Projects are half down to start and half on completion. You'll get an invoice for the first half, and you can pay by card or bank transfer through Stripe, or by Venmo. Once the deposit is in, we set dates together and get to work.
-
Content and design
I'll gather what I need from you, like your logo, photos, and the story of your business, and help fill in any gaps. Then I design and build your site and share progress along the way. How long it takes depends on the scope, and we'll agree on the dates together.
-
Review and changes
You'll see the site before anyone else does. Tell me what you'd like changed, and we'll work through it together until it feels right.
-
Launch
When you're happy, we go live. The second half is due on completion. I'll check that everything works on phones and computers and walk you through your new site.
-
Ongoing care
Websites need a little care to stay healthy. Monthly care plans start at $99 a month and cover updates, checks, and changes, so you don't have to think about it. See care plans.
Need something updated? Just email.
Send your change requests to hello+changes@steveknowsweb.com. That inbox is read twice each weekday, and the updates are made by Wren, my website assistant. You can meet Wren and the rest of the crew on the Meet the Team page.
Small text fixes, like a typo or new hours, can go live quickly. Bigger changes get my OK first. Wren is an AI helper, and I review the work myself, so nothing about your site is left on autopilot.
For solo folks and small businesses, I also build simple sites in the $500 to $800 range. Tell me what you need.
